STRIVE, THRIVE, LIVE!
Hi, I'm Sonia Clarke. I have read "The Music of My Life" by Cleoni Crawford. I'm presently writing my own book, "I'm still getting up." If Ms. Crawford can do it, anyone can. Her book is so detailed and transparent. It has its highs and lows (rhythmic plateaus). Nonetheless, I congratulate her for sharing her story which of course can educate others about the challenges of mental illness and of accepting the illness and trusting God can make a difference. No one is immune. Love you girl. Keep writing!!
Awesome and honest account of a very personal journey. Such as strong person.

The Music of My Life is a must read for sure. I truly loved the book and was glued from cover to cover. The author, Cleoni Crawford deep dives you into the experience of what it is like to live with certain mental illnesses while being Black. She unashamedly uncovers every complexity possible in written form. Crawford was able to create a precious resource so needed in our community by penning her pain. Her story should be used as a tool to revolutionize our Black family's approach to mental health thus bringing healing and hope to those contending within a broken system.
What a great story of struggle and survival:
As a social worker, I have worked with many people who have had mental health issues, but never have I heard someone share their story in such an impactful way as the author does with her book. At times this book felt like a rollercoaster taking one through the highs, lows, twists, and turns.
This book is well worth the read. For review, click here.
Cleoni is an exceptional, smart, and very interesting person. She is passionate, very ambitious and creative. In the short time I have got to know her she has truly blessed my heart. Her book has also given me a better understanding of who she is and what she she has endured and overcome. Her book also helped me understand what people go through that have a mental illness. Her book is amazing and inspirational and it will make you laugh and cry. I would recommend her book for all to read.

1 in 5 or 20% will live with mental illness in their lifetime. I am that one.
We would like to create a program that hosts workshops and keynote speeches where Cleoni will share how she overcame mental health and teach a few tips to college and university students.
"If people are given the right amount of support and love, people with mental illness can strive, thrive, live and have life in abundance."
